Youngblood Brass Band

Where can a nine-member ensemble do an offstage session, when they can’t leave the venue and moreover want to avoid playing in public before their show? The roof seems like a decent compromise. The part which is more or less safe to walk is not so big, but the globe-trotting riot jazzers Youngblood Brass Band, who started off in Wisconsin and now hail from all over the United States, still manage to get in formation for a massive performance. There’s five brass, three drummers and a sousaphone making as much noise as possible! If this rendition of “Camouflage” does not get you dancing, then what? Setting up the microphones in a way that they can deal with this ear-shatteringly loud performance, we can not get the full volume of the vocal part of the mostly instrumental song “Camouflage”. However, the sonic blast easily jumps across the audience, that meanwhile gathers in the courtyard of the venue, while the residents living next door are close to calling the police.
