Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby

It’s like one of those freaky-bizarre scenes in David Lynch films: Wreckless Eric just got up, his hair is still dishevelled. He points his eyes directly at the camera, lectures about Rock’n’Roll, Chinese workers and the correct way to coil up a lead (like a lasso!) while screwing around on his broken amplifier. He talks more than he plays music – but that’s exactly what he does on stage as well. Eric and his wife Amy Rigby form a congenial duo, they complete each other in ways of music, conversation and entertainment. With dark, British humour, grotesque stories about life in general and the music business in particular and – if nothing else – a decades-spanning catalogue of inspirational songs between Sixties-Beatpop, Punk and a more mellow Singer/Songwriter approach, Eric and Amy in no instant let boredom come up during their two-hours-plus shows. Even in the morning after, while trying to get Eric’s amp going in the lobby of their hotel, they are perfect, eloquent and totally unpretentious entertainers. And they know how to fucking fix an amp.
