Johnny Flynn

Even on a rather small festival like Haldern Pop it is possible to get lost. We initially planned to walk to the small, idyllic lake close to the festival site with the London-based songwriter Johnny Flynn (as we later did with Okkervil River) when we met him for a session. But fences and a lack of orientation on our side wouldn’t allow us to get there quickly, and the necessary detours would have taken too much time, so we head back to our meeting point and decide to go for a tiny, yellow trailer near the small stage. Johnny – very relaxed and patient – sits down on the bed, takes his beautiful acoustic guitar and begins fingerpicking „Lost and Found“ from his last album „Been Listening“. It is certainly not the most charming location you could imagine this talented musician and songwriter (he is also an actor!) performing in, but on the other hand some of the stories Johnny tells in his songs might very well play in such a „Ramblin’ Man“ setting. Just let his soulful voice and guitar play carry you away!
