After having spent some time as a rambling’ man between Cardiff, London, Osaka, Vienna and Reykjavik and finishing the debut album in Sigur Ros’ swimming pool/recording studio in Iceland, Bensh comes by his home country Austria. Bensh is staying over at his brother’s place and we meet him and his bandmates Sion and Sevo just across the street in the courtyard of a small museum. A woman working at the museum wants to convince us first to do the filming session inside, so that she could make the unknown museum be seen. When Bensh explains with his likeable smile that they do actually prefer performing outside – despite the dankness and smell of snow -, she then diligently puts a small poster of the current exhibition (of Hans Kelsen, who was the architect of Austria’s federal constitution) next to the keyboard. Once the poster is placed and the tambourine wrapped in a scarf, the band goes for a wonderful performance of the elated “Odd One In” and the melancholic “Hard Rain”.
